A vibrant, multi-cultural,

Topography
Singapore consists of one main island and 60 small islands about 137 km
north of the Equator. It extends from 1° 09'N latitude to 103°
38'E longitude. It has a total land area of 647.5 square kilometer's, out of
which almost half has been set aside as forest reserves, marsh and other
non-built-up areas. Three reservoirs occupy the Centre of the island. Almost
half of the land is for residential, commercial and industrial use whereas a
mere 1.7 per cent of the land is for agriculture.
Climate
When it comes to climate this small island state experience all the
distinct climate. The four seasons are: hot, hotter, wet and wetter.
Singapore has a warm tropical climate with sunshine all year round--making
it a good place to develop a perpetual tan. With the sea to further moderate
fluctuations in temperature. In summer the temperature fluctuates between 32°C
to 24°C. Summer is accompanied with high humidity. The daily average
relative humidity is 84.4 per cent.

Rainfall is abundant. The rainy season falls during the Northeast Monsoon
from December to January. December is usually the wettest month while
February is the sunniest. July and August are the hottest months, with
average temperatures hitting their peaks.
Culture
The culture of Singapore is truly cosmopolitan. Here you don't only find
people practicing various religion but you have great conglomeration of
people from different countries presenting the true vibrant color of
Singapore. If you ask the locals about the culture, they will shoot back to
you by describing it as Among "rojak", a delicious local mixed
salad that is eaten as an appetizer. Indeed, Singapore's diverse cultural
heritage has resulted in a way of life that forms the canvas of a rich
social fabric. Most of the people of Singapore are descendants of immigrants
from the Malay Peninsula, China, the Indian sub-continent and Sri Lanka.
While they have gradually acquired a distinct identity as Singaporeans, many
still retain their customs, practices and festivals in a curious mix of the
modern and the traditional.
Butterfly Park, Singapore

Dolphin Lagoon, Singapore
The first of its kind in Asia - Underwater World's new Dolphin Lagoon at
the Central Beach houses the Indo-Pacific Humpbacked Dolphins, commonly
known as pink dolphins for its coat of "bubbly" pink. Built at a
cost of approximately S$3 million, the Dolphin Lagoon was specially
constructed to simulate a natural environment similar to their original
habitat. Containing approximately 30 million liter's of filtered natural
seawater, the lagoon has an undulating sandy bottom to provide the dolphins
with a variety of water depths and is surrounded by lovely white beaches
lined with palm trees.
At the "Meet-the Dolphin" sessions, visitors are able to watch
the dolphins perform their natural behaviors such as spy-hop, tail-flapping,
vocalizations etc. Few lucky visitors will be allowed to wade into shallow
waters, under the guidance of staff from the Underwater World, to touch and

Jurong Bird Park, Singapore

The
Jurong Bird Park is one of the world's largest and most impressive aviaries,
that nestles over 8,000 birds of 600 different species from all over the

Haw Par Villa, Singapore
Just a 20 minute ride from the bustling crowds of Orchard Road, you will
lunge into the grounds of Haw Par Villa. Established in 1937 as one of the 3
private residences of the Aw brothers. The Aw brothers, Aw Boon Haw (Tiger)
and Aw Boon Par (Leopard) who became world famous, for their ointment called
Tiger Balm. They were so rich, they originally built seven pagoda-like
structures on the grounds and was originally called Tiger Balm Gardens. The
grounds are furnished with statues depicting ancient mythological creatures
and stories from Ancient China, many of which still stand now which is
named, Haw Par Villa. It took 2 years to build the original site, this
historic landmark is now one of the most scenic sites in Singapore.
